The Rise of Silas Lapham

Silas Lapham, an entrepreneur from rural Vermont, moves his family to Boston and rises to the top of the city's wealthy social elite. As the Lapham's rise in social standing, however, their children become increasingly out of touch with their rural roots, forcing them to confront their newfound identity within the city's privileged society.
