Lore of Proserpine

Proserpine, also known as Persephone, is a Greek goddess who is kidnapped by Hades and taken to the underworld. Her mother Demeter mourns for her, causing the seasons to change. Eventually, a deal is struck for Proserpine to spend part of the year in the underworld and part of the year on earth, explaining the cycle of the seasons.
