Hafbur and Signe: a ballad

Hafbur and Signe were two lovers separated by war. Signe's brother killed Hafbur in battle, causing her immense sorrow. She prayed for Hafbur's safe journey to Valhalla and held a feast in his honor. In the end, both were reunited in the afterlife, an eternal bond that even death could not break.
