The Tale of Brynild and King Valdemar and His Sister tells the story of a king who falls in love with his sister's handmaiden, Brynild. His sister becomes jealous and plans to have her killed, but King Valdemar intervenes and marries Brynild. However, their love is forbidden and they are forced to flee. In the end, they are reunited and live happily ever after.
