The Hanging Stranger is a science fiction short story written by Philip K. Dick. It tells the story of a man in an unspecified city that finds a corpse hanging from a lamppost. It soon becomes apparent that no one else in the city can see or acknowledge the body, leading the protagonist to ponder why he is the only one that can see it.
