A dumbwaiter is a small elevator used to transport food, dishes, and other items between floors in a building. It is usually operated by a pulley system and can be manually or electronically controlled. Dumbwaiters are commonly found in restaurants, hotels, and large homes to efficiently move items without needing to use the stairs.
