The Great Gatsby is a novel about wealthy Jay Gatsby's pursuit to win back his former lover Daisy. Gatsby arranges lavish parties to win her affections, surrounded by friends, acquaintances and characters from the past. Ultimately, though, Gatsby learns that the path to true happiness is a complex one and requires understanding and compromise.
