The Flame Messenger: King of Supernatural Powers
em. This possibility quickly occurred to Brutols. Although the fat man and the delicate crossbow-wielding woman were barely acquaintances, necromancers might see them differently, possibly as close associates of Brutols.

“What should we do?” the woman asked, trembling. Brutols responded, "You have two choices: stay and fight alongside me to defeat the necromancers once and for all, potentially ridding the world of their menace. But we can’t be sure anyone will appreciate our efforts, especially since the necromancers haven’t publicly revealed themselves. Or you can retreat now, hoping they lose interest and leave you alone."

To his surprise, the fat man, who had shown fear earlier, gathered his courage and declared, “I’ll continue fighting with you. We don’t have any other choice but to keep battling. Those necromancers will hold a grudge, and since we’ve destroyed their summoned creatures, they’ll likely come for our lives next. I have to see this through.”

“Alright, I’ll do my best to protect you during the fight.” Brutols nodded at the fat man earnestly. The woman also chose to stay and fight, as expected. After returning to the inn, Brutols booked rooms for rest, opting to stay in a populated place for safety. The inn was crowded with adventurers, including powerful swordsmen and skilled mages. Any attack here would force the necromancers into a rash and desperate move.

The daunting question remained: were they facing one necromancer or an entire organization? If it was an organized group, it would be significantly harder to deal with them. Brutols knew few people in this world. In his own world, he could have counted on his allies for support. Regardless of the universe, numbers often dictated outcomes in battles. Despite his immense strength, the necromancers might have equally formidable allies. Victory rarely comes without a fight; those who stand resolute until the end are the true victors.
