Many of us are ordinary magicians envied for our unique abilities. Most Shadow Mages don’t seize human shadows but use animal shadows. I’ve never taken a human shadow, except for those guards who captured me..."

“I won’t believe you just because you’re attractive,” Brutols said, almost driving her to tears. She hastily swore by the world’s main deity, but Brutols retorted, "How do I know if your god exists? Your oath may mean nothing.” However, the beauty's body suddenly emitted white light, indicating the truth.

“Alright, I’ll help you,” Brutols sighed. With a glow of red light, his body temperature soared to thousands of degrees, melting his handcuffs. Freeing himself, he also helped her escape. Grateful, she fled through the window, transforming into a shadow. But for Brutols, the direct approach through the front door seemed best.

Brutols easily opened the prison door, facing several guards who rushed in. These guards, though stronger than average, were no match for Brutols. He avoided using his fire abilities prematurely. He deftly dodged their spells and swords, having fought superhumans with similar techniques before. Without needing his abilities, he used a stolen dagger to eliminate the guards quickly.

The dagger felt heavy in his hand, likely due to its unique material. This brought Brutols some cheap satisfaction. He left the prison, leaving the stunned prisoners behind. In the magic tower's centuries-long history, only one person had ever escaped, and Brutols’ escape was even more brazen.

Brutols hadn't realized his actions had triggered the tower's alarm, drawing attention from all within. Now, he faced the entire magic tower’s forces alone.

Chapter 2: Escaping the Magic Tower (1)

Just as Brutols was about to leave the magic tower, the magician he had injured was taken to the magic treatment center. However, Brutols' fire elemental powers were entirely different from the fire magic of this world and couldn't be treated with water magic here. The treatment center’s healers were baffled, and Brutols marveled at the effectiveness of his attack. It wouldn’t be long before that magician would likely meet his end, but it was a just punishment. 

Brutols donned a suit of armor exclusively used by the magic tower guards. This armor was lightweight due to an enchanting floatation spell that reduced its weight.
