ently.

I gulped down the water and asked, “Not enough! More, please.”

The lady smiled slightly, walked back, poured another cup, and then asked, “What’s your name and where is your home? How did you get injured in the Beast Mountain? Take it easy while drinking.”

It seemed the mysterious person hadn’t mentioned these details.

As I tried to get up, a sharp pain pierced my right chest. Struggling, I said, “My name is Ba Qiyun,” and after thinking for a moment added, “I don’t know where my home is.”

“Did you lose your memory? You don’t even know your own home?” She paused briefly, then continued, “How about this, you stay in the Ghost King Sect from now on.”

After some contemplation, I asked, “Miss, what is your name?”

“Chen Yingrou,” she replied.

I smiled and said, “Nice name. Can I call you Yingrou from now on?”

Before she could respond, an elder’s laugh echoed as he pushed the door open, “Yingrou, is the kid awake? Ah! So he is.”

Before he could finish, his granddaughter interrupted, “Grandfather is an elder in the Ghost King Sect. Our sect has four elders, three patrons, and one master stronger than my grandfather, who is a Grand Martial Master. There’s also a mysterious elder deeply revered by all.”

Stunned, I thought, “Grand Martial Masters, legends in my eyes, and there are five here. The patrons must be formidable too, but the mysterious elder is the most astonishing.”

Yingrou’s sweet smile reassured me, “Don’t be shocked. This will be your home. Train hard here. One day, if you gain strength equivalent to the master, you can even compete for his position, provided you don’t betray the sect.”

The offer had an alluring yet threatening undertone, making me slightly uncomfortable.

Chen Chufei smiled, “Yingrou, take him to find a place to stay, and then get him registered in the Dark Division.” Looking at me, he added, “Qiyun, train diligently here,” and vanished.

Nodding respectfully, I put on my shoes and f
